The greening housing contradiction: The UK case. Presentation at the ENHR 2025 Conference in Grand Paris
This presentation, delivered at the ENHR 2025 Conference, is based on the paper “The Greening Housing Contradiction: The UK Case,” which critically examines how three key green policy initiatives in the UK – retrofitting, urban greening, and densification – are reinforcing longstanding housing inequalities. Drawing on research conducted within the ReHousIn project (co-funded by the EU and UKRI), the analysis situates these interventions within a broader historical shift: from direct public investment in housing to market-driven approaches that stimulate demand and commodify public goods.
